Introducing 52 North

How long have you been in business?

52 North was founded one year ago when two well-know local builders joined forces.  Ali ___ has xx years of experience ….David Yakielashek has over 25 years of building experience.

Our mission is to provide high-quality homes at affordable prices for our clients.

How many homes have you built?

Some of the previous builds by our team members include the home for Loni Klettl, Jim Vena (both his single-family home and the Duplex) Rob Olson’s Apartment building and the Caputo’s home.

How would you describe a typical 52 North build?

We do not have a typical home.  Each home is custom designed to match the homeowners’ needs

Can leaseholders provide their own plans, or do you only build from your own plans?

We work with our trusted designer to draft unique plans specific to each customer, but also willing to work with homeowners if they are already working with an architect.

What standard features come with your homes?

There is no standard home, of course each home adheres to Alberta Building code, but we pride ourselves on not building cookie cutter homes. We work with each homeowner to build a home as unique as them.

What options and upgrades are available?

There are unlimited upgrades and options available, they are as broad as one’s imagination. Some easy options to talk about would be a metal roof as opposed to traditional shingles, Hardi Board or acrylic stucco, fireplace/ wood stove, cultured stone and Timber accents, quartz or granite countertops, engineered hardwood flooring, wood accents/interior doors, custom closets…the upgrades are endless.

What energy-saving features are in the homes you build?

All homes are installed with high efficiency natural gas forced air furnaces, high efficiency natural gas boilers, and are built with the ICF styrofoam foundations. If the homeowner wishes we are able to increase the insulation from the standard R22 in the walls, install solar panels, heat pumps…

How are you building to “climate proof” your homes?

All exterior products ( other than wood accents) have a fire rating of Class A, which is the highest fire rating.

What efforts are made to shop locally for materials?

With the loss of our local lumber yard, we source almost all our materials from Edmonton, which keeps the costs down for the homeowner. We build with 2×6 frame exterior walls, R22 insulation, triple pane glass windows, just to name a few. We purchase our accent woods from “Take to Heart” in Revelstoke.

Who will oversee construction?

David Yakeilashek is the Project Manager and he will personally be overseeing each home.

How long will a home in Jasper take to build?

Once the plans are completed, the lot cleared, and the contract signed it will take approximately 12 months to complete.
