Jasper’s service organizations receive support

Rotary Club, Jasper Community Team Society, to distribute donations

Programs designed to help Jasperites impacted by last year’s wildfire received a mountain of support recently.

Last week, the Jasper Rotary Club, together with Rotary District 5370, announced its intention to help distribute $125,000 to community groups impacted by the Jasper wildfire. The funds have been raised by Rotarians in the community, the province and around the world since the July 2024 wildfire.

“Rotary strives to make the world a better place here at home and around the world,” Jasper Rotary co-chair Libby Weir has said.

Priority for the funds will be given to applications in the areas of mental health, recreation, school programs, and programs for seniors, according to the Club.

Community groups can access the application by emailing RDCF@shaw.ca or using the form below.

The deadline for applications for the first disbursement is October 31, 2025.

Patricia Lake Bungalows contribution

Meanwhile, on Jasper’s Pyramid Benchlands, Patricia Lake Bungalows’ Nathan D’Heer presented the Jasper Community Team Soceity (JCTS) with a $20,000 cheque to help the long-term recovery of the Jasper community through Community Outreach Services, and to help facilitate youth participation in sports.

“We wanted to to help families with basic, day-to-day expenses,” D’Heer said.

The father of one with another child on the way said the Patricia Lake Bungalows team knows families’ participation in minor sports sometimes comes with financial barriers.

“Hopefully this helps alleviate some of the stress on families,” he said.

JCTS Executive Director Tristan Tomkins thanked D’Heer for raising awareness for Jasper’s Child and Youth Participation Fund, accessible through Community Outreach Services.

“This donation will go a long way to help bring a sense of normalcy for many Jasperites after the year we’ve all had,” Tomkins said.

To apply to the Community Caring Fund or to access the Child and Youth Participation Fund, visit the Jasper Community Team Soceity’s webpage.
