Deep pow, deeper meaning: SkiBig3 lifts up Jasper

Ski resorts in the Bow Valley joined forces to boost the community of Jasper recently.

From December 6 to 8, the SkiBig3 Community Ski Days gave Bow Valley locals the chance to tear up the slopes and also lift up their fellow resort community members.

Hosted on successive days by Banff Sunshine, Mt. Norquay and Lake Louise Ski Resort, the event raised more than $41,000 for the Jasper Community Team Society’s wildfire recovery fund.

“The intention of Community Ski Days is to encourage locals and new residents just arriving for the winter season to experience one, two, or all three of the SkiBig3 resorts while giving back to the surrounding community,” said SkiBig3 marketing specialist Isabelle English.

With 100 percent of proceeds going to the Jasper Fire Caring Community Fund, the event provided a meaningful way to support those impacted by the 2024 Jasper fire while embracing the joys of winter in the Rockies, English said.

“We are proud to help provide essential resources to those affected by the 2024 wildfires.”
