Float on: Canada Day Parade gallery

Jasperites donned their red and white, kitted out their floats and paraded around the community with pride on Canada Day (Tuesday, July 1).

Local businesses, organizations, and performers came together to showcase what makes Jasper such a special place to live and visit.

Maligne Adventures took an afternoon off of their usual routes on the Athabasca, Sunwapta and Fraser Rivers to float down Connaught Drive.

The Jasper Gymnastics Club cartwheeled through Jasper’s downtown, much to the delight of parent photographers and other onlookers.

The ACFA flapped into formation for the Canada Day parade, finding many birds of a similar, francophone feather.

Jasper municipal councillor Scott Wilson showed his adept horse handling skills while travelling with Mayor Richard Ireland and Parks Canada officials.

The UpLift Mural Festival rolled through in typical steezy style.

The Jasper Park Cycling Association showed the club’s radical roots and handed out rootbeer lollipops while doing so.

Parks Canada’s wildlife guardians were especially e-fish-cient in keeping the parade moving…after all they train every day in Jasper’s summer wildlife jams.
