At 53 degrees north in January, dark comes quick.
But during Jasper in January, that’s a good thing: since January 10, Jasper in January’s After Dark Series has been lighting up the night!
In 2025, an incredible line up of artists, song writers, DJs, comedians and unique performers have graced various stages across town. From local songstress Marie Flipo-Bergeron belting out blues, to the stompable sounds of East Coast punker Brian Doucette (playing tonight at the Whistle Stop), the After Dark Series has something for everyone, says Tourism Jasper’s Naji Khouri.
“Every day has something epic,” Khouri says.
Headlining the heavy-hitting handbill is a collaboration made in Alberta indy music Mecca: Edmonton-based singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, Colleen Brown, and Highway 40 road sign-inspired, Scenic Route to Alaska.

Major Love is Brown and the Scenic Route trio pairing emotional vulnerability with the kind of confidence that is synonymous with rock, according to their publicist.
“Earnest without taking themselves too seriously,” is how one reviewer describes them.
During the 36th annual winter Jasper in January celebrations, and the first festival post-wildfire, that sounds like the much-needed vibe that residents and visitors to Jasper can groove on.
On Saturday, Patricia Street will transform into a hub of family-friendly fun packed with exciting activities. The fun starts at 6 p.m. Check out the JinJ Events Page for more information.
