It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Wayne Keith Williams (Willie), who left us peacefully in his sleep on October 15, 2025, at his parents’ farm in Alix, Alberta.
He leaves behind his loving wife Audrey, children Logan and Tieghan, mother Althea, sister Laverne, sister-in-law Linda (Paul) Fortier, brothers-in-law Ross (Deb) Zurbrigg, Carl (Amanda) Zurbrigg, Lorne (Cheryl) Zurbrigg, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Gordon Williams.
Wayne was a wonderful husband, devoted father, beloved son, cherished brother, and loyal friend to many. He was the person who would help anyone with anything. He had a great sense of humour, and often found his greatest joy in laughing at his own jokes.
For his career, Wayne was a passionate Railway Engineer with CN. His job allowed him to enjoy the wilderness of Western Canada with a tea in hand while making lasting friendships. Outside of work, he was an enthusiast of all things mechanical and could often be found working joyfully on a car and chatting with passersby. He loved learning and tinkering, but most of all, he loved a good visit.
Rest well, Wayne. We’ll keep the kettle warm.
A celebration of life will be held at the Alix Community Hall in Alix, AB, on Saturday, October 25th at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, Wayne’s family would greatly appreciate donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Crohn’s and Colitis Canada in his honour.
