It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Max Peregoodoff at home in Jasper, AB, on April 20, 2026, at the age of 20.
Max was born in Banff, AB, and lived for several years in Lake Louise, AB, before moving to Jasper, AB, in 2009, where he attended daycare, elementary school, and junior–senior high school.
Max was enormously curious and knowledgeable about many different subjects: philosophy, world history, politics, geography, languages, and 3D printing.
He enjoyed playing Warhammer and D&D with his amazing and loyal friends, going for drives while listening to many different styles of music—especially country, shopping for tools, and spending time with family.
Max was passionate about soccer and, in his senior years, enjoyed coaching younger players.
He loved living in Jasper and exploring the surrounding mountains through outdoor activities like hiking, hunting, fishing, and backcountry camping. Max also travelled to many places around the world with his family.

In high school, he worked for several summers with Pursuit at Maligne Lake, where he lived with his family at the Maligne Warden Station, and then for Parks Canada on the vegetation restoration crew. After high school, Max took an introduction to the trades course at SAIT and started his millwright apprenticeship at the Jasper Skytram, following a few months working at the Banff Gondola.
Max will be remembered for his amazing smile, kind heart, and brilliant mind.

He is survived by his brother, Kyle Peregoodoff, mother and father, Amber Stewart and Grant Peregoodoff; aunts and uncles, Bryce Stewart and Jane Ogilvie, and Kyla and Mauricio Quintana; his cousins, Evan and Leah Quintana; and his grandparents, Mac and Amy Peregoodoff, and Linda Stewart.
He was predeceased by his grandfather, John Stewart.

A Celebration of Max’s Life will be held later this year in Jasper.
