A motorist in Jasper National Park found themselves in a sinking situation last week.
On September 18, Parks Canada and other agencies responded to a public report of a vehicle submerged in the Sunwapta River at Beauty Creek.
Beauty Creek is approximately 15 kilometres north of the Columbia Icefields Area.
Parks Canada said the vehicle was extracted from the river. Parks Canada did not say if charges were pending.
“The occupants of the vehicle were unharmed and the vehicle was recovered from the Sunwapta River,” a media official said in a statement. “No further details are available at this time.”
