The Rotary District 5370 Charitable Foundation (RDCF) has wrapped up its final round of Jasper wildfire relief funding, distributing $85,440 to eight local organizations and bringing the total amount invested in Jasper recovery projects to $140,000 across 15 community groups.
Announced May 6, the latest round of funding supports projects focused on mental health, recreation, education and community wellbeing.
“We are so grateful to RDCF for all the assistance in getting Jasper back on solid ground,” said the Jasper Rotary Club’s Sue Cesco. “There is so much amazing work being done.”
Among the funded initiatives are a new inclusive playground at École Jasper Elementary School, school gymnastics programming for 240 students, trail reforestation and beautification along the Jasper Discovery Trail, and a community mural celebrating the Jasper Pathfinders peer support program.
The Municipality of Jasper received support for several community-focused projects, including outreach events aimed at seniors and youth, mental health and healthy relationship education sessions delivered by Frankie D’s Donuts, and replacement of Rotary Club materials lost in the wildfire.
Funding also went toward new fine arts stage equipment at Jasper Junior/Senior High School to support theatre productions, concerts and graduation ceremonies.

Jasper Cancer Action and Support Group
The Rotary Club of Jasper, alongside the Jasper Lions Club, also contributed support to the Jasper Cancer Action and Support Group. JCASG steward Heather Wall said the assistance from both service clubs has helped the group continue supporting local residents navigating cancer diagnoses and treatment in the aftermath of the wildfire.
“We are incredibly grateful to both Rotary and the Lions Club for stepping up for our community,” Wall said. “Their support means we can continue helping Jasper residents when they need it most.”
According to the foundation, the Jasper Fire Relief Fund was made possible through donations from Rotarians around the world.
